The Waiting Room

Jude and Nina are in love. We’ve all heard this before, the typical love story, but then, Jude dies. He wakes up in a waiting room, just a regular room. Out the windows, he can see Nina living her life, like a reality television show. Her grief, her pain, her moving on….

The receptionist, a grouchy woman named Ruth, won’t give any information, just gives him a pamphlet. Usually you leave the Waiting Room less than an hour after they arrive, but Jude waits year after year.

A few basic principles of the Waiting Room:

-You leave when your name is called.

-You can’t leave any earlier.

-When you leave, you are reborn in a new life.

Most of the book is focused on the Waiting Room. When Nina and Jude are reborn, their lives are only described in a few pages. Then it either skips to the next life…

  1. I enjoyed this book so much that I gave it 5 stars on Amazon and Goodreads, when I read it several months ago. I recommend it for its plot and characters. A very interesting read!!
